PRE-SALE: SLATED FOR RELEASE MARCH 2022
The Pirates Prospects Guide returns for its 11th year, previewing a very important season for the Pittsburgh Pirates and their farm system.
The Pirates will enter the 2022 season with one of the top farm systems in the game, and that’s before any offseason moves to add to their system. Trades of Josh Bell, Joe Musgrove, Jameson Taillon, Adam Frazier, Clay Holmes, and Richard Rodriguez have boosted a system that got an even bigger boost from creative spending surrounding the first overall pick in the 2021 draft.
At the big league level, the 2022 season will be when we should expect to see the first wave of this rebuild. Meanwhile, the lower levels will provide a lot of hope for opening that window of contention in Pittsburgh, and keeping it open for an extended period of time.
The Guide will sort through the entire system, with profiles on every prospect that let you know what to expect in the upcoming season. This year’s book will include a story exclusive to the book, made up from one-on-one interviews, and over a decade of knowledge from covering baseball player development on a daily basis. The 2022 Guide will follow-up on the 10th Anniversary Guide, as part of a series that looks at Player Development from a different angle.
The paperback version of the book is available in three different covers: Pirates Prospects, Oneil Cruz, and Roansy Contreras. The book will only be available for purchase during the pre-sale period. That extends until mid-February, pending any major CBA issues. The only way to get this book this year is to order during the pre-sale period between now and mid-February. There will be a digital version released when the book is released in March 2022, again, pending any major CBA issues.
