The Pittsburgh Pirates took 18-year-old third baseman Ke’Bryan Hayes with the 32nd overall pick in the 2015 draft. He went to the Gulf Coast League, where he showed off his solid defense and strong approach at the plate. The Pirates liked what they saw and sent him to Morgantown for the final two weeks of the season. Hayes is now known for his oustanding defense which has earned him three minor league Gold Glove awards, so it’s appropriate that his rookie card from the 2015 Bowman Draft set shows him in a fielding pose, about to make a throw towards first base. Hayes has the upside of a Gold Glove All-Star in the majors and he should make his debut during the 2020 season.
